Coronet Peak, Queenstown, New Zealand

Updated 16 June, 2001

"The Peak"

Coronet Peak is a classic little ski hill, 20 minutes from the centre of Queenstown. It has probably the most consistent weather of all New Zealand ski fields and with the modern wonders of snow making manages to produce a lot of ski days, the record number of consecutive open days is something over 100!

The Peak doesn't stand very tall but faces south and keeps the snow well. Some great powder days to be had but you better be there early. Some fantastic terrain, undulations and options to keep you entertained on the 3 major lifts.

Night skiing on Fridays and Saturdays adds another dimension, especially with the full moon. Night skiing starts early July.

Creche, 6 years and under are free on the lifts, senior is 65 and over, child is 16 or under or still at high school.
