Updated 20 June 2001 The RemarksSticking high above the valley and often the cloud The Remarkables dominates the Wakatipu Basin. Shorn by glaciers, draped in snow, one of Queenstown's great play grounds :-) The Remarkables snow area sits in the Rastus Burn facing brilliantly North for those sunny days and high altitude snow fun. A great spot for the family with young kids. Uncrowded gentle slopes and a nice big learners area just in front of the impressive day lodge. The lifts provide access to some stunning advanced terrain above Lake Alta with the well known Escalator, Elevator and Inclinator chutes. Or get those legs burning on Homeward Bound.
