The Lodge

The Snowfarm is proud to unveil our new base building and lodge facilities. Complete with function rooms, bunkrooms, bedrooms en-suites, 'The Altitude Shop' (clothing and accessory shop and café. The highlight will be the bar overlooking Mt Aspiring. The new facility will be open all year round to cater for functions. Weddings, Christmas parties, business team building exercises, altitude training, smaller conferences, sports groups, walking groups and any group who wants to experience the magnificent mountain panorama and the alpine environment.

The Altitude Café is already famous for it's cuisine. Menus can be pre arranged or enjoy the chef's choice. Mountain activities can be arranged to suit your group's ability. The activities range from walking, alpine plant, mountain walking, mountain running, 4WD tours, organised activities e g orienteering etc. by arrangement.

The new facilities caters for everyone from the novice skier to the pro and to people who wish just to come up and having a light lunch while taking in the breathtaking scenery from the new upstairs lounge.

Mountain Hut facilities.

Waiorau Snowfarm back country is serviced by two separate huts located on the upper slopes of the Pisa range, the Bob Lee hut, and Meadows hut. These rustic dwellings house all the essentials for a warm and dry night out in the wilderness. Both huts are equipped with mattresses, gas coolers, pots and pans plus cutlery.

Meadow Hut:

The Meadow hut is located 5km's from the base area in a sheltered Meg river flat. It accommodates 16 skiers in 2 huts, and is a great first time trip for would be back country skiing adventurers.

The Bob Lee Hut:

The ideal campsite to use as a base for backcountry ski-touring (or snowboarding). The Bob Lee campsite is comprised of three huts, two bunkrooms and the main hut that doubles as a bunkroom and kitchen. This converted musterer's hut is brimming with rustic appeal and real backcountry atmosphere. The most popular time for the huts are during the full moon, and for good reason as carving fresh tracks in powder by the light of the moon is simply out of this world!
